Workshops on Export Control for the Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic
Center on Export Controls together with the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), within the framework of the targeted initiative on the export control of CBRN dual-use materials and technologies, funded by the EU, initiated two 3-day Workshops on Export Control and Identification of dual-use goods for employees of the Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The first Workshop was held on 28-30 April and the second one on 26-28 May 2021, and took place in an online format with the participation of European and Ukrainian experts. The Workshops covered the basic goals and principles of export control, functions of the Customs Service in the area of export control, licensing, lists of controlled goods and technologies, identification of controlled goods and technologies, functions of state agencies in the area of export control, and their interaction, and many other issues.
Implementation of these Workshops on Export Control issues will allow the country to strengthen its control system for sensitive transfers and minimize the risks of violations of export control legislation. It will also raise the awareness of customs officials in the field of nonproliferation, protection, and management of modern security threats
